Formed in 1969 in Michigan, Brownsville Station quickly rose to fame with their infectious brand of hard rock and boogie tunes. Their biggest hit, "Smokin' in the Boys Room," written by Michael Lutz and Cub Koda, reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1973 and has since become a classic rock anthem.
Their self-titled debut album, released in 1973, was a critical and commercial success, reaching No. 23 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album featured several other hit singles, including "Lady (Put the Light on Me)" and "Hey You," which both reached the Top 40.
Brownsville Station continued to release successful albums throughout the 1970s, including "School Punks" (1974), "Motor City Connection" (1975), and "Brownsville Station" (1976).
