NaLyssa Smith, the most decorated player in Baylor women's basketball history, was selected No. 2 overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2022 WNBA Draft on Monday night.

Smith, a four-time All-American and two-time national champion, led the Bears to a 132-10 record during her four years in Waco.

The 6-foot-4 forward averaged 22.1 points and 11.5 rebounds per game last season, and she was named the Big 12 Player of the Year.

Smith is the highest-drafted Baylor player in program history, and she is the first Bear to be selected in the top three since Brittney Griner was taken No. 1 overall by the Phoenix Mercury in 2013.

The Fever are getting a player who is not only one of the most talented players in the WNBA, but also one of the most decorated. Smith is a proven winner, and she is sure to make an immediate impact in Indiana.
