WEB Tamayo Perry, 49, has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire surfing community. The renowned big-wave surfer, lifeguard, and actor passed away on June 23, 2024, after an apparent shark attack off Kauai's North Shore.

Perry's legacy as an accomplished waterman was well-established. The eight-year veteran of Honolulu Ocean Safety was a lifeguard and professional surfer who grew up on the beaches of Oahu, Hawaii. His exceptional skills and bravery on the waves earned him a reputation as a local celebrity.
